From there, we'll create a plan that's challenging, sustainable, and actually enjoyable.

Erica Brennan

Erica founded The Gym Howth in 2009 with a simple mission: create a fitness space that's challenging, inclusive, and actually fun.

What started as a passion for Pilates evolved into a love for strength training, personal coaching, and building a community that shows up for each other.Over 16 years,

Erica has designed countless programs, challenges, and workshops – including BODYCYCLE, our signature rhythm-based ride. She specializes in helping clients build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits – whether you're chasing fat loss, lean muscle, or navigating pre- and post-natal fitness.

Erica's approach is real, no-nonsense, and rooted in genuine care. She'll push you, support you, and celebrate every win along the way.

Siobhan Fagan

Siobhan started her fitness career in marketing for a group of leisure centres before deciding to turn her passion into practice.

She joined The Gym Howth as a Personal Trainer and Instructor, and quickly became an essential part of the team – now leading operations while still coaching clients.

With a BSc in Exercise & Health and specialist training in corrective exercise and cancer exercise, Siobhan brings both expertise and genuine care to every session.

She loves working with people at every stage of their fitness journey – whether you're just starting out, managing a health condition, or chasing a new goal.

Dell Tao

Dell has dedicated his life to fitness, martial arts, and helping others reach their goals. He started training competitively in Chinese Martial Arts at age 7, becoming a province champion in China by 11. Over the years, he's earned the title of Chinese Wushu 5th Duan and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt.

Dell joined The Gym Howth in 2019 and quickly became a cornerstone of the team. With over 13 years of experience teaching martial arts, kickboxing, Tai Chi, and personal training across China and Ireland, he brings a calm, patient approach to every session.

He specializes in strength training, rehab and injury recovery, and helping clients build back confidence and capability. Whether you're recovering from injury, building functional strength, or improving mobility – Dell meets you exactly where you are.

His sessions are challenging, but never rushed. You'll leave feeling stronger, more mobile, and genuinely supported.

Your Questions, Answered

Do I need to be fit to start personal training?

Absolutely not! Personal training is for all fitness levels. We'll meet you where you are and build from there.

How often should I train?

Most clients see great results with 2-3 sessions per week, but we'll create a plan that fits your schedule and goals.

Can I combine personal training with group classes?

Yes! Many of our clients do both. PT gives you personalized programming, and group classes add variety and community.

What should I bring to my session?

Just water, a towel, and workout gear. We provide all equipment.

What's your cancellation policy?

24-hour notice required. Late cancellations or no-shows forfeit the session.

Do you offer nutrition coaching?

Yes! We provide practical, sustainable nutrition guidance as part of your training (not meal plans, but real-world advice that works).
